I have been searching for chocolate basil. I do not know if you are familiar with a website called Dave’s Garden but there has been a group of us searching far and wide and following up leads for months. Please, Please tell me where I can get some! The search has all but been given up. We have just about decided that it is a myth like bigfoot or the loch ness monster(or loch nestle as we have dubbed it) If you could help us on our quest we would be SOOOO grateful!

you are right about Keith, but don't be mad at Ira

it was very good for all of us to hear Gillian's program and useful in explaining to other friends and family what our conditioning was as Keith's children...

peace

I also ran across your reference to chocolate basil--was wondering if you had any further information on where it came from, or whether it was still available?

Hi Tracy - alas, my chocolate basil, which did incredibly well over the summer and fall, died on my windowsill last winter. However, I still know the guy who gave it to me, and if he grows it again this year, I will email you to send you some cuttings. That's actually the best thing about plants like basil - they grow like weeds once you find the type you like!

I just bought some pineapple sage and golden thyme from "Farmhouse Flowers and Plants" at the Dupont Circle Farmer's market last Sunday. I don't know if you live in the DC area, but I would bet that they'll have some chocolate basil when the weather gets warmer.

Best, Pen

I think we'll both have to update our profile tabs at the top. I'll write a response post to this post tomorrow, for Monty and I have been thinking the EXACT SAME THING lately. Spooky. I swear there is some sort of telepathic life change happening.

Thanks for your comment, SS.

As I wrote in this entry, my husband and I did struggle with whether or not to use the Ferber method. In the end, it's what worked for our family. We were lucky in that our daughter responded to the implementation of the method with minimal crying. As a matter of fact, she cried way more when we were trying other "no cry" solutions and co-sleeping much of the time.

In addition to meeting her sleep needs, we are also working hard to provide our child with a loving and secure home. We're doing the best we can.

SS, I think it's funny that you're "pretty sure" you know what my child is thinking. Do you have any idea how judgemental and arrogant you sound? Maybe that's what you intend?

Anyhow, thanks for judging us. I'm "pretty sure" you are a miserable person. Either that or you're a troll.

It's like a fun game: What Would a Feminist Do?!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself. The guy was a creep. And you, understandably, were creeped out by him. I put personal safety above making a point most days too.

Creepy bus man was dead on about your lovely hair, though.
