However, I still know the guy who gave it to me, and if he grows it again this year, I will email you to send you some cuttings. That's actually the best thing about plants like basil - they grow like weeds once you find the type you like! I don't know if you live in the DC area, but I would bet that they'll have some chocolate basil when the weather gets warmer. As I wrote in this entry, my husband and I did struggle with whether or not to use the Ferber method. In the end, it's what worked for our family. We were lucky in that our daughter responded to the implementation of the method with minimal crying. As a matter of fact, she cried way more when we were trying other "no cry" solutions and co-sleeping much of the time. In addition to meeting her sleep needs, we are also working hard to provide our child with a loving and secure home. We're doing the best we can. SS, I think it's funny that you're "pretty sure" you know what my child is thinking. Do you have any idea how judgemental and arrogant you sound? Maybe that's what you intend?
